The air is getting crisp. Leaves turn rusty and cover the ground. The scents of apple cider and burnt firewood hover in the atmosphere. A romantic picture, to be sure -- if you're an ignorant fool who knows nothing about the supernatural!
It is nearly nine o'clock - well past my bedtime. I am finally curling up in a corner of the library with a guilty pleasure read. I don't usually read horror novels (I encounter plenty of creatures of the night in real life!), but it's almost Halloween so I figured - why not? Tonight, a guilty pleasure - Rosemary's Kitten.
No one listens to my warnings when I tell them about witches. Yes, some witches are good. Glinda the Good Witch, for instance. But how do we know she's really good? Well, I guess having the word "good" in her job title is the first giveaway. But is she really good. Seems more like a troublemaker to me. One other thing - she's a fictional character. On the other hand, if the history books in Curious Hollow Public Library are to be believed, Lady Midnight was a real witch and she's due for a visit to the Land of the Living any day now.
